July-August Sessions

Fun On Stage!

(Ages 4-5) • Fridays 5:00 - 6:00 pm
with Ms. Natalie and Ms. Marlena
This fun, imagination-based class is designed to introduce preschoolers and kindergarteners to life on stage. They will learn basic theatre skills such as vocal projection, stage presence, character creation, terms, and much more through games and exercises. Above all, though, they’ll learn how fun it is to be on stage! (Limited to 10 students!)
Session 1: April 9 - May 28
Session 2: July 2 - August 20

Tweens Take The Stage!

(Ages 11-12-13) • Fridays 6:30 - 7:30 pm
with Ms. Natalie & Ms. Marlena
This class is geared toward building confidence and public speaking skills in adolescents, as well as teaching a hodgepodge of theatrical forms such as improvisation and musical theatre. Through games, exercises, and scene work, teens will learn all the basics of being on stage, as well as more advanced skills that they will use not only in their futures on stage, but in everyday life, as well. (Limited to 10 students!)

Session 2: July 2 - August 20

Daily Dance

(Ages 14+) • 4:00 - 5:30 pm • with Ms. Jessica
This class offers technique in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Musical Theatre, Hip-Hop, Stretch and Core Conditioning.

Our Instructors

Ms. Jessica O'Brien

Jessica O’Brien has been a member of Our Gang for seventeen years. She has over nineteen years experience in theatre. She holds a B.A. in Acting and Musical Theatre from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. She has worked along
side musical theatre legends Chita Rivera, Ben Vereen, Luis Perez, Tina Paul and Nicole Fosse. She has also been working as a Choreographer for eight years with Our Gang, the Strand Theatre and The Jefferson National Touring Company. She is a New Jersey State Perry Award Nominee for Best Choreography for her production of West Side Story in 2006. She has been teaching acting and dance privately for many years now.

Natalie Jones

Instructor Natalie Jones has been a member of the Our Gang Players for 14 years now, holding positions as a performer, director, production stage manager, light board operator, and much more. She is a former member of the Southern Regional Theatre Company, having performed in four spring musicals and participated in four years of improvisation class. She is currently a freshman at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey as a Theatre Performance Major. She absolutely loves what she does, and loves sharing her passion with young people, as well! 

Marlena Mignano

Teaching assistant Marlena Mignano is a junior at Southern Regional High School and has been involved with the theatre company there for two years as well as a member of the improvisation class for three. She has been involved in Our Gang for 9 years and has had the opportunity to grow both onstage and off as a performer, assistant director, stage manager, light board operator and prop master. She loves continuing on the Our Gang tradition and getting the opportunity to work with the younger kids, helping them develop as performers!
